Two Hindu temples were vandalised and Hindu idols were desecrated by Muslims in Bangladesh

In the sub-district of Mithapukur in the Rangpur district of northern Bangladesh, the idols of Maa Kali, Shitola, and Mahadeva have been damaged. The police have arrested a Muslim woman named Kohinoor Begum, who is the wife of Aminur Rahman, in connection with the desecration of the Maa Kali temple. The Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Mithapukur Police Station, Mostafizur Rahman, reported that Kohinoor Begum gave a confession statement. In another incident, a Maa Kali temple was vandalized in the Kotwali Thana area of the district.

During a recitation program of Srimadbhagavad Gita at Haricaran Barman's house, an argument arose over the use of a loudspeaker, and later that night, the temple was found vandalized. Sushanta Bhowmik, the president of the Rangpur chapter of the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, informed the Bengali language national daily newspaper of Bangladesh, Kalbela, about this incident. A 'reconciliation' meeting was held the next day in the presence of sub-district council Chairman Nasima Zaman Bobby, local union council chairman Sohel Rana, Hindu leaders, and other elders.
