According to Saharareporters, it has been reported that a minimum of 37 individuals lost their lives and numerous others sustained injuries in Sokoto State, located in the Northwest region of Nigeria. The incident occurred when bandits targeted three villages in the Tangaza Local Government Area. These criminals launched an attack on the villagers, using firearms to perpetrate their violent acts. The attack resulted in the deaths of approximately 37 people, with several others being injured in the process.

It was discovered that the motive behind the bandits' brutality was the villagers' failure to comply with levies imposed on their communities. In the wake of the attack, the bandits even disrupted the burial ceremonies of the deceased by dispersing the grieving villagers who had gathered to pay their respects.

Local residents shared with Saharareporters that the terrorists carried out the assault on Saturday evening in the villages of Raka, Filin-Gawa, and Raka-Dutse, where they indiscriminately fired upon the inhabitants.
