Meaning of atithi devo bhava means that the guest is God. Its a part of Hindu culture that we treat our guests as God and its main part of Hindu’s life. We have been taught and trained to respect and treat people with love. The way we worship God; In the same way, we take care of the guests considering their appearance.

The one who always gives us something or the other out of kindness without any expectation from us, that is, without any benefit, one sided benefit is given to all, he has been called a deity in our scriptures.

Tourism department is using this as a slogan to attract more tourist in India.

Indian culture has also been undergoing changes under this law of nature and we keep seeing some good and some bad changes. What was part of the culture a few thousand years ago may not even be visible now, what is part of the culture today may not be there tomorrow. We need to save our culture for our next generations.
