Afghanistan: Pak military commends its soldiers' 'martyrdom' in eliminating six Taliban militants

As per an official statement from the army, a confrontation between Pakistani soldiers and the Pakistan Taliban near the Afghanistan border resulted in the death of six soldiers. The army's report also mentioned that four members of the armed group were killed in the clash. The incident occurred on August 22, 2023, in the general vicinity of Asman Manza in the South Waziristan District.

The army confirmed that six soldiers displayed bravery in the face of intense gunfire and lost their lives in the battle, while four terrorists were killed and two others were wounded. The clash occurred in North Waziristan. The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as the Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility for the attack and stated that its fighters ambushed two military vehicles.
