Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh): In a tragic incident involving the killing of an individual to protect family honor, a 36-year-old man from Sikar, Rajasthan, passed away due to severe injuries inflicted by his in-laws, who belong to the minority community in Khandwa.

Local authorities report that the victim, Rajendra Saini, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday while receiving treatment at the district hospital. Prior to his demise, Rajendra provided a statement, known as a dying declaration, which led the police to file murder charges against three individuals: his brother-in-law Salman (36 years old), mother-in-law Munnibai (55 years old), and father-in-law Mumtaz. All of them reside in Singot village within the Khandwa district. Superintendent of Police, Satyendra Kumar Shukla, provided this information.

According to available details, Rajendra, a resident of Sikar, Rajasthan, entered into a love marriage with Amrin from Singot, Khandwa, in 2021. Following their wedding, the couple resided in Jaipur. Rajendra made multiple attempts to bring his wife back after she was convinced by her family to stay with them. However, on his third visit to his in-laws' house on May 13, he was beaten by Amrin's parents, brother, and others when he insisted on seeing his wife. As a result of the physical assault, Rajendra suffered internal injuries, leading to a deterioration in his health. Eventually, on May 16, he passed away while undergoing treatment at Khandwa district hospital.

According to the police, Rajendra worked as a tile worker and had traveled to Singot village for work purposes. It was during this time that he met Amrin, who was 20 years old at the time, and the two fell in love. In January 2021, they eloped from Singot to Rajasthan.
